FarmingFarming emoji is one of the Jobs (and skills) available in Transport Tycoon. As a farmer you are responsible for harvesting and selling crops. You have the choice of farming in Paleto Bay or in Grapeseed. Both areas have multiple fields that can be bought provided that you have the level for the field. Like any tiered job, your pay will depend heavily on your progress within the skill.<br />

Getting Started
Getting Started
To get started you will need to change your job to Farmer at a Job Center Job Center
+
First, you will need to visit any Job CenterJob Center (<i>except for Life Invader</i>) and choose the <b>Farmer</b> job.
Once you have the farmer job, head to one of the farms (Paleto Bay or Grapeseed) and start your duty on the farm Farm. <br>

As a fresh farmer, you won't have the privilege of choosing what crop to start with. You will have to begin with a grain field. You start with one free grain field; check your map for an owned field Owned Field.

Starting the harvest
:It is suggested to start farming in Paleto Bay due to the proximity of blips compared to Grapeseed.

To begin harvesting you will need a tractor, Combine Harvester (purchase from the Vehicle Dealership  Car Dealer or Combine Harvester can be spawned at both farming locations) and a hopper trailer which can also be spawned at both farms.

Enter the grain field with the Combine Harvester and press G to start harvesting and you will start seeing yellow circles pop up behind you. These yellow circles can be collected with the hopper trailer.

Once you feel like you have enough circles, get your tractor and attach your hopper trailer. Lower the hopper (G).

Drive over the circles. The hopper trailer will start collecting grain. Once the hopper trailer is full, drive to a grain silo Grain Silos to drop off your grain. The grain silo, bale selling point and fruit stand have the same icon so make sure you are at a grain silo. You just successfully completed a full farm cycle. Repeating this process will earn you farming levels and cash.<br>

Baling
Grain can also be packed into bales at the marked Baling Machines Baling Machine .

Simply place the Hopper within the marked area and it will convert Grain into Bales.

When it's done converting, get a Bale Trailer Bale Trailer (from the farm) and pick them up the same

way you picked up the Grain with the Hopper Trailer.

Take the Bales to the marked Bale Selling Point and sell them there.

New Fields
+
Once you have the Farmer job, head to one of the farms (Paleto Bay or Grapeseed) and start your duty on the farm.
;Grass
+
As a fresh Farmer, you only have access to a small field Purchasable Field at Paleto bay, so go there and buy it (30.000$) Owned Field. <br />
:Of course, there are a lot more crops than just grain. For example, you unlock grass at level 9. Grass cannot be harvested with a tractor.
+
Every field is locked behind a specific Farming level, locked fields show up as Unowned Field (see Fields).
Grass is usually cut with mower. This is no different in Transport Tycoon. Once you reach level 9, find the lawn mower spawn marker and buy one of the grass fields. From now on the process is almost the same as with grain. Press G and start driving around. Once you feel like you have enough, grab a tractor with a hopper trailer attached. Drive over the markers until the hopper is full. You can now sell the cut grass at the grain silo Grain Silos .

FarmingFarming emoji.png is one of the Jobs (and skills) available in Transport Tycoon. As a Farmer, you are responsible for harvesting and processing crops. You have the choice of Farming in Paleto Bay or Grapeseed. Both areas have multiple fields that can be bought provided that you have the level for the field. With the crops you harvest, you can feed livestock such as chickens, pigs and cows.

Getting Started

First, you will need to visit any Job CenterJobCenter.png (except for Life Invader) and choose the Farmer job.

Once you have the Farmer job, head to one of the farms (Paleto Bay or Grapeseed) and start your duty on the farm. As a fresh Farmer, you only have access to a small field Purchasable field.png at Paleto bay, so go there and buy it (30.000$) Owned field.png .
Every field is locked behind a specific Farming level, locked fields show up as Unowned field.png (see Fields).

Cultivating Farming fields

This first side of the job allows you to cultivate fields to grow certain crops with seeds.

Obtaining seeds

  • The first 3 types of seeds are available at the Market (Farmer Shop)[1], there are 2 locations on the map, 1 at Paleto and 1 at Grapeseed Generic Shop.png . If you are part of a Faction, they can also purchase 1 Farmers' Market.
  • To obtain others seeds you will need to get them through other means, such as Prospecting, opening Chests, trading with other people or obtaining them through the Marketplace.

  1. The Farmers market uses a generic Market icon that is used for different types of markets. Make sure to check the name of the blip through the map legend to find a correct market type.

Cultivating

There are multiple steps from cultivating the fields to eventually harvesting the crops.

  • First, you'll need a tractor that you can buy from the Car Dealership Car Dealer.png or find a randomly spawned one.
  • After that go to an attachment point Attachment point.png and select "Tractor (Plough)".
  • Next, go to the field you bought previously and start the job by driving on the field. Once you've completed the area, you will be awarded with Farming Experience.
  • Now go back to the attachment point and select "Tractor (Seeder)". Once you get back to the field, a menu will open to choose your seed to be planted. Every seed has a specific level requirement and growth time[1] (see Seeds). You start with carrot seeds and unlock other seeds later. You now once again drive over the field until the area is completed. You now have to wait for the seeds to fully grow[1].
  • If You have a Fertilizer (obtained from a Farming Perk or Marketplace), You can visit the attachment point to select "Tractor (Fertilizer)" and visit your field once again to apply a fertilizer to it. This will half the growth time.
  • You will see a small green circle around your field blip when growing is finished Readytocollect field.png .
    • You can check the progress of a field through your map. Select the Farming field blip on your map and an infobox will display the time remaining[1].
  • Go the the attachment point (again) and select "Tractor (Harvester)" and once again ride on your field until the area is completed. For harvesting, you will be rewarded with Farming experience and the raw Farming items.

Animal breeding

The second aspect of the farmer job involves taking care of livestock. There are no level requirements, the only thing you need is money.

  • Head to a holding pen (red house) Holding pen.png blip on the map and buy one of them. (you can buy them all at once if you are rich)
  • After buying it, a lot of information is displayed:
    • Animal Type
    • Total animals
    • Feed level
    • Next feed tick
    • Feed animals
    • Next collection time

All you have to do here is take care of your animals by feeding them regularly. At the start you'll only have 1 animal, but you can buy more of them by hitting the "Total animals" button (price is increasing after each animal bought).
Once you have animals on your farm, make sure to feed them as you will lose all but one of your animals if they do not have enough food!
